What is “Games for the Blind”?

Games for the Blind is an online website which allows users who are blind or visually impaired to access three specially designed games. These games provide a fun and quality way for children with visual impairments to play games without the feeling of being “left out” from certain functions. It is intended to be a fun source to help develop spatial orientation skills using binaural sound  (hearing with both ears).

How can “Games for the Blind” help?

With the website, users have access to three different, specially designed games: Tic Tac Toe, Tennis, and Curve. Using a computer keyboard, each game helps you to practice different skills and competences. Tic Tac Toe helps you to practice spatial orientation and strategy. Tennis helps you to practice sense movement, speed, and depth. Lastly, Curve helps you to practice mathematical skills in auditory space.

Where can I find “Games for the Blind”?

All of the games available to download for free via the “Games for Blind” website, using a computer. The content is supported by different computer operating systems including Windows 32 bit, Windows 64 bit, Mac OS X, and Linux. The games are available in both English and Greek.
