Glimmer is designed to help people with disabilities to meet others like them, make friends, and enjoy interacting with each other. It gives its users the freedom to indicate whether they have a disability or not, and helps form connections, communities, and romantic engagement. Ultimately, Glimmer is a place which encourages all people to be proud of who they are.

Glimmer was made to help build inclusive networks that would empower individuals who face challenges on a daily basis to connect with one another. The creators recognized that people with disabilities may lack social resources, so they wanted to use social technology to tackle this. Once you have signed up for free, you’re able to build your own profile based on your interests and who you are, make new friends, join groups, and start discussions in forums.
