The Africa Disability Collaboration, in partnership with EnableMe Kenya and The Action Foundation, is proud to announce the inaugural African Summit on Inclusive Early Childhood Care and Education. Dedicated to supporting children with disabilities in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, and beyond, this transformative event will take place on July 22nd, 2023, at the esteemed Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) in Nairobi.
Under the theme of 'Nurturing Care and Opportunities for Early Learning for Children with Disabilities,' the summit will serve as a platform to showcase innovative service provision models and pioneering advancements in Inclusive Early Childhood Care and Education throughout Africa. It is with great enthusiasm that we invite attendees to embark on inspiring learning visits to carefully selected organizations in Nairobi. These visits will provide an up-close look at successful initiatives and best practices in action, offering valuable insights and practical knowledge to all participants.
As part of our commitment to fostering inclusive education, we are thrilled to highlight the partnership between EnableMe Kenya and The Action Foundation. During the summit, we will utilize and publicize the Nairobi Inclusive Schools directory, along with other educational resources made available by The Action Foundation. This collaboration aims to strengthen access to inclusive education and empower educators, parents, and stakeholders to create supportive and inclusive learning environments for children with disabilities.
The summit will continue with an exhilarating one-day interactive workshop session, featuring thought-provoking breakout discussions, curated panels, and engaging plenary workshops. This dynamic event will provide an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, share experiences, and collaborate on strategies that promote inclusive early childhood care and education across the continent. There will also be a childrens play area thus making the event family friendly.
