What is Simply Saying?

Simply Saying is a mobile resource designed to help children understand medical terminology and common procedures as medical jargon can be overwhelming for children to understand. The mobile app can also be used by parents to promote positive health care experiences for their children. This app was developed by the Phoenix Children’s Hospital to help their younger patients better understand and cope with their medical experiences.

How can Simply Saying help?

The Simply Saying mobile app uses pictures, sounds, and a child friendly glossary of terms to help create a clear conversation between the healthcare provider, the child, and the family. Some features of Simply Saying include an alphabetized glossary of terms, illustrations and photographs, anatomical images to illustrate surgical procedures and medical conditions, and sound clips.

All the content in the app is available in both English and Spanish.

Where can I find Simply Saying?
